The night before jitters

After almost a year of planning and doing we are ready to close up the house and leave our friends and family for our Great Loop adventure.  We leave in the morning and make our drive to our new home Lifestyle II.  She is a grand Lady and will serve us well.  But don't expect a 26 year old boat to be without problems.  As soon as we arrive I will start working on the port water tank and the aft head.  The list never ends.  Our departure was almost sidetracked by the loss of a very good friend.  As we sat in the memorial service today we had mixed emotions about losing a dear friend and the realization of how short our time really is.  We love our friends and family and will miss them but hope this blog will help keep us close even though the miles my be many.

Getting Ready

Almost all of the packing is done.  The outboard dingy motor should be ready tomorrow and the sewing of the seat cover will be complete by Friday.  We pick up the rental car Saturday and out trip begins.  Closing up the house and getting business matters taken car of has been more of a task than we thought it would be,  but we are still on schedule.  The drive to Stuart, FL will be long but the soft memory foam bed will be waiting.  Sunday will be a work day and Monday we will be close to departing Stuart on Lifestyle II on our  voyage of the Great Loop.
